Tom Campher Motors was established in 1974 by Tom Campher. The name “Tom Campher Motors” has remained synonymous with Volvo for over 30 years. We can proudly say that, today, Tom Campher Motors remains a family run business with good business principals. The company is owned and run by the brothers, Vic and Gerhard Campher. Vic and Gerhard have grown up with Volvo – their passion and love of the brand brings about an exceptional enthusiasm in the Tom Campher Motors’ dealership.
In 2004, Tom Campher Motors became an accredited Volvo Dealer. Today, Tom Campher Motors is amongst the top dealers in Southern Africa; having been awarded each of the annual awards over the past four years. Volvo Car SA recognises its best performing Dealerships
In their annual ceremony called Dealer of the year (DOTY), Volvo Car SA, celebrates the sales dealer of the year, after sales dealer of the year and the biggest one, overall dealer of the year. This year the announcement was conducted online due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The most improved DOTY category is calculated on the Sales, Service and Customer satisfaction scores as well as cars and parts sales. This category's scores are all measured against the previous year's scores.
The criteria for the Sales dealer of the year category includes employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction, sales volume as well as profitability.
Then there is the After sales dealer of the year that is measured on Customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction as well as parts purchased.
The biggest award of the all is the Overall Dealer of the year. This one is calculated on a combined total score of both the Sales Category & the Aftersales Category.

The biggest winner of the night was Tom Campher Volvo Car Johannesburg who scooped 3 awards in total, for three different categories. The dealership scooped the coveted award, Overall dealer of the year 2019, Sales dealer of the year 2019 and After sales dealer of the year 2019.
